Meghan Markle Supports Serena at Wimbledon
Back in May, Serena Williams attended the royal wedding to support her friend Meghan Markle, and now, Meghan and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton are supporting Serena in turn. The three reunited at Wimbledon on Saturday, July 14, where Serena was competing in the finals, The Cut reports. In addition to cheering on their friend, this is the first time Meghan and Kate have been seen in public together.
A video posted by the official Wimbledon Twitter account shows the special guests getting out of the car and preparing to meet with athletes. They’re both dressed perfectly for the occasion, with Kate wearing a white polka dotted dress and holding a light pink purse. Meghan wore a white and blue striped button-down shirt, white Ralph Lauren slacks, and a Maison Michel straw hat with a ribbon around it, according to the blog Meghan’s Mirror.
Serena and Meghan’s friendship goes way back, with Meghan watching her friend play several times before at the Grass Court Grand Slam, according to ABC. “We’ve always had a wonderful friendship … our friendship is still exactly the same. We have always supported each other and been there for each other through a lot,” Serena, who ended up losing the title to German player Angelique Kerber, said at Wimbledon on Thursday. It looks like the new Duchess’s appearance at the tournament is no exception.
