Niqqob Sister Bags 3 Months Jail For Stealing Sheeps

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo on Monday sentenced a 26-year-old Niqqob Sister, popularly refers to as ‘Eleha’ Fatimoh Ismail for stealing two sheep.
The accused person Fatimoh is facing a count charge bothering on stealing.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq told the court that the accused person committed the offence on September 26, 2018 at Akede Iyaloja Area Oke-baale Osogbo, Osun State.
Inspector Rasaq said the accused who resides in Ibadan came to Osogbo to steal two live sheep belonging to one Olatunji Wasiu.
Rasaq said she was caught red-handed with the sheep where she tied them and waiting for a vehicle to convey them back to Ibadan.
However, when the owner saw his sheep, he recognized them and quickly held her and called for help.
He further said the offence committed is contrary to Section 390(9) of Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. ii Laws of Osun State Nigeria.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the one-count charge leveled against her.
While she was asked to comment on her action, she said she is a nylon bags seller and also sells Soya cake (wara), adding that she could not explain how the two sheep got to her possession.
She pleaded for mercy and pledged to turn a new leave as the act was not intentional.
Defence counsel, R.A Arikewuyo prayed the court to temper justice with mercy in its judgment, adding that his client has little mental disorder and urged the court to consider her three little kids.
In her judgement, Magistrate Awodele found Fatimoh guilty of the offence and sentenced her to 3 months imprisonment with an option of fine in the sum of N2000.
