…..Urges them to be good ambassadors of Islam

The Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has urged Muslims to be of good conduct and behaviour as they celebrate the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1440. Aregbesola said the purpose of the celebration would be pointless if Muslims do not imbibe the lessons of the period and the teachings of the Prophet.
Ogbeni who said this at the Hijrah celebration organized by the State Government in conjunction with Osun State Muslim Community, also implored Muslims to be good ambassadors of Islam.
Speaking on the topic; Good Governance, Procedure and Process: Islamic Perspective, the Guest lecturer, Dr. Kamorudeen Bolarinwa, said being a leader means being able to serve and being accountable.
He said the leadership post is a trust which the leader must not misuse. He thereby urged leaders to be upright, truthful and work towards making people happy.
Also speaking, the President of the State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi said the event was significant as it happened in the same month the State would be transiting from a regime to the other.
He thereby prayed Allah make the September 22nd governorship election a peaceful and non-violent transition.
Olawuyi also thanked the State Governor who he said has show cased the State in the world map as progressive and peaceful one.
“We thank you sir. We also specially thank you for your huge assistance to the Osun State Muslim Community especially on our ongoing Secretariat building project and your unrelenting support on yearly Hijrah celebrations.”
