Chelsea star Eden Hazard has had a big hand in Real Madrid’s decision to snub Antonio Conte, according to one journalist.
Just four months after being axed by Spain, Lopetegui received the same fate again after Real lost El Clasico 5-1 on Sunday to Barcelona.
Reports had suggested that ex-Chelsea boss Conte could land in Madrid on Monday to sign a deal with the La Liga giants.
Ramos though seemed to fire a warning to Conte in a staunch defence of Lopetegui, insisting tactical knowledge is not everything.
“I’ve always had a good relationship with my coaches,” Ramos said. “You win respect, you don’t impose it.
“We have won a lot with coaches – you know who they are. Sometimes managing the dressing room is more important than the coach’s technical knowledge.”
Now, Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda has provided an update on the situation by stating the Eden Hazard has had a say on Real’s next appointment.
Hazard has been repeatedly linked with a big-money move to the Bernabeu, but Inda claims that the Belgian said he “would never sign” for Real if they hired Conte.
The 27-year-old was apparently not comfortable with his role under Conte and has found top form under Maurizio Sarri, but Los Blancos are expected to return with a January bid to make him their next Galactico.
