A Committee on Forestry Reserves inaugurated a few months ago by Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun headed by Professor Bayonle Olorede has today presented its reports to the Governor of the State at the State Office, Abere, Osogbo.
Presenting his report, Prof. Olorede, who is the Chairman of the Committee, hinted that the State’s Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, from Forestry Unit has risen from over 10 million by the end of 2018 to over 22 million naira as at the end of March 2019, noting that the increase was tremendous.
Reacting to the Committee’s presentation, Governor Oyetola commended members for their efforts and service to the people of the state, adding that the increase in the IGR shortly after the Committee’s assignment was a confirmation of ‘job well done’.
Present at the presentation of the Committee’s reports were the Deputy Governor of the State, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, the new Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Charles Akinola, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Adeyanju Abdullahi Binuyo, and the Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade.
Also in attendance at the presentation were two scholars from the academia, Dr. Kaseem Olayiwola, Head of Department of Mathematics, Osun State University, Osogbo, and Mr. Jimoh Olorede of the Departments of Mass Communication both at the University of Benin, Edo State and the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State.
