Governor, State of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has expressed the commitment of his administration to reposition the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation conglomerate to perform better in line with the global best practices.
Governor Oyetola stated this while receiving the report of the State Revitalization Committee for Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) in his office on Monday in Osogbo.
Mr. Oyetola paid glowing tribute to the founding fathers of the state media conglomerate, the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation for the clear vision in establishing media facilities in Osogbo, New Dawn in Ibokun, Orisun FM in Ile-Ife and Reality Radio Vision Service situated in Iwo which he maintained confirmed beyond any reasonable doubt the importance they attached to information management and publicity.
The Governor stated that OSBC remains the voice of the State Government of Osun, hence the vital need to deliver qualitative media service to the good people of Osun, stressing that his administration has the duty to deliver the vision of the founding fathers of the state owned media conglomerate.
Governor Oyetola who said the inauguration of the committee has become imperative with a view to repositioning the media organization to an enviable height nationally and globally.
The Governor who said the intention of the revitalization exercise was not to downsize but to rather reposition the media conglomerate for optimal performance, commended the committee members for serving the state meritoriously and energetically.
Earlier in his remarks at the programme, Supervisor for Information and Strategy, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa said Governor Oyetola has never ceased to be a strong lover of OSBC, stressing that the present administration under the visionary leadership of Mr. Gboyega Oyetola is passionate about transmogrifying the state owned broadcasting service into a state of infrastructural eldorado.
Mr. Baderinwa who appreciated the Governor for being media friendly and for demonstrating his unprecedented resolve at entrenching good governance in the Land of Virtue making use of state of the art government owned media facility.
In his address at the event, the Chairman of the Committee who is the Group Head, Technical Services, Television Continental (TVC) Communications, Lagos, Engr. Obaniyi Akinwale on behalf of the Committee appreciated the State Government of Osun for the rare opportunity given to the committee to champion the cause of upgrading OSBC to the 21st Century technology driven status.
He said Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s leadership style and administrative finesse are second to none as evident with the composition of the committee members drawn from both the private and public electronic media.
Highpoint of the event was the official presentation of the committee’s report to the Governor by the Committee through its Chairman.
Other members of the State Revitalizing Committee are Messrs. Adeyeye Oyedokun, Kayode Akinsola, Edmund Obilo, Ayo Makinde, Taiwo Ojewande and Olabode Awe who served as Secretary of the committee.
