The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, in the next couple of days will announce Ladan Bosso, Fatai Amoo and Haruna Ilerika as the national team coaches for the Flying Eagles, Golden Eaglets and Nigeria U15 National Teams.
According to SCORENigeria, Ladan Bosso will be drafted to his former position to replace Paul Aigbogun to qualify Nigeria for the world cup after the 2021 CAF U20 African Nations Cup. The President, Nigeria Coaches Association will have his hands full when qualifying games start November 14th and end November 20th. Though, football activities are still under suspension in Nigeria.
Nigeria is drawn in West B Zone alongside Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo and Niger Republic. Burkina Faso is the hosting country of the West B Zone U20 African Nations Cup.
Meanwhile, former Nigeria U23 assistant coach, Fatai Amoo is expected to be announced as the head coach of the country’s U17 team, the Golden Eaglets, in place of Manu Garba.
His appointment after many months of speculations that linked several names like Finidi George to the post is expected to be announced this week.
The former Super Eagles midfielder has handled some of the country’s top clubs including Shooting Stars, Sunshine Stars and Julius Berger (now defunct).
His first assistant coach, according to report will be Ahmadu Lawal of the famous Abuja Football College that started out Sadiq Umar (Partizan Belgrade), Emmanuel Dennis and David Okereke (Club Brugge), while Nnamdi Onuigbo of IB Sporting Dreams Abuja will be second assistant coach.
Onuigbo was fitness trainer with the U23s who won bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The Golden Eaglets are due to feature in the zonal U17 AFCON in Benin Republic next month.
Haruna Ilerika will head the national U15s after previously working with the team as an assistant.
