Osun United Assure Fans Of Participation In NNL

THE management of the Omoluabi gaints, Osun United has assured fans of the team’s participation in the Nigeria National League slated to start on January 30.
The NNL body had released the fixtures for the season in which Osun United was not included among the participating teams.
This had made some of the fans of the football club to express worries.
Osun United, played in second tier league last season, which was abruptly ended due to the Coronavirus pandemic after purchasing Collins Edwin FC’s slot.
The Lagos-based club took back its slot after the management of Osun United defaulted in the agreement.
The state government however, promised to procure another slot for the team before the commencement of the new season.
However, in a chat with OSUN DEFENDER, the Media Officer of the team, Mr. Tajudeen Amodu said there was no need for fans to panic as the team would participate in the competition.
Amodu said: “We have gotten the slot but the change of name has not been effected at the NNL Secretariat. We acquired the Slot of Akajiobi, Owerri and we are in NNL Group B1. The change of name should be effected this week”.
He added that Osun United will begin 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) on Saturday, January 30, when they take on Go Round FC at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium, Omoku, Rivers State.
Also in Group B1, Southern Conference include; Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Ekiti United, Stationery Stores of Lagos, Calabar Rovers of Cross Rivers State, Giant Brilllars of Enugu, Dynamites FC of Edo and Nilayo FC of Abeokuta.
Others are Vandresser FC of Akwa Ibom State, who bought the Collins Edwin FC’s slot, Delta Force of Delta and Nnewi United of Anambra State.
