Vacation Treat: I Didn’t Ask Eze Igbo To Vacate Calabar ~ Abasi Otu V
In reaction to the ongoing allegations widely spread across board against the Obong of Calabar, that he has issued the Eze Igbo of Cross Rivers Chief Emmanuel Ezenwenyi seven days ultimatum to leave Calabar.
The Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo, Abasi Otu V, has openly denied the allegation and urged the good people of Calabar, Cross Rivers and Nigeria to ignore.
In a press statement made available to Journalist by the Etuboms Traditional Council at the Palace of Obong of Calabar and duly signed by His Highness B .O Duke, the Obong said, “The accaliamed letter that was allegedly said it was sent to Eze Igbo from the palace giving him seven days to vacate Calabar is false and a satanic calculation of the enemies to basically incite the public so there can be breakdown of law and order.
The letter reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a letter credited to a group, Nka Ikemesit Mkparawa Essien Efik Duoeba, giving Eze Igbo seven days to leave Calabar if he does not officially apologise for the insults thrown at the Obong during the visit of some dignitaries to him.”
The Obong expressed total disappointment at such calculative attempt by some persons to use social media to politicise and distract the peaceful kingdom, by trying to incite the public.
He admonished the people, indigenes and non indigenes living in the Kingdom/State to continue to live in harmony, peace and avoid provocative actions, that Calabar is known for peace.
Obong sounded a loud note of warning to those using social media to create and promote actions that can lead to break down of law and order in the city to have a rethink and also implore those trying to obstruct the peaceful co-existence of the people to restraint.
