The State of Osun Police Command have paraded five suspected ritualist, armed robbers on Wednesday in osogbo.
Osun Defender gathered that the police arrested a 50- year- old man, simply identified as Gbadamosi Adewumi, and four others with decaying human hands and leg for alleged ritual.
Osun Police made the disclosure while briefing the press at the command headquarters on Wednesday.
The commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale T. Olokode, who said a team of of Osun police operative based on intelligence policing arrested Gbadamosi at no 7 Oke Ayepe area in Osogbo with his accomplice named Rasheed Ajani 55, Saka Akeem 56, Abiodun Adetimilehin 56 and Olagunju Adetunji 40.
Osun Defender learnt that others were arrested at Oke olodo, Kajola ijesha , Atakunmosa west iga in Osun.
He said the suspects confessed to the crime that the hands and legs was one Kehinde, his address and surname still unknown was given to one Olagunju Adetunji for ritual.
The police also said the command arrested two for armed robbery and posessions of dagerious weapons.
According to him, “Hammec Abiodun 19 and Godwin John 35 On 20/05/2021 at about 11:50 am, a gang of armed robbers armed with guns and other dangerous weapons invaded Ilesa/ Ife expressway in Osu Area, attacked a commercial Toyota picnic vehicle at gun point and dispossessed the passengers of their valuable properties such as handsets, Jewelries, cash sum of money and other valuables items.
“One of the armed robbers after robbing their victims, the following day wore a Jean Jacket dispossessed the victim (driver) of to a first generation Bank, Lagere, Ile-Ife and unfortunately for him, the driver identified the robber and his cloth wore, alerted the police and two of the suspects were arrested”, he stated.
He stressed that the command while working hard to ensure that the state is not a safe haven for criminals/ unscrupulous elements arrested two other suspects for alleged robbery and possession of dangerous weapons adding that the suspects confessed to the crime and be charged to court as soon as they are through with their investigation.
