At about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, the remains of the late Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, the Soun of Ogbomoso, were interred in the palace, according to Islamic rites.
As reported by Osun Defender, the monarch joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday, December 12, 2021.
The Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Alhaji Tholiat Ayilara, led other Muslim clerics to conduct the prayers.
Notable sons and daughters of Oyo state and Ogbomosho in particular, thronged the palace to pay last respect to the departed monarch.
According to reports, the Oyo State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Rauf Olaniyan, was among the first callers.
Former Governors Rasheed Ladoja and Otunba Alao Akala were among the many dignitaries who came to pay their last respect.
