NYSC Inaugurates COVID-19 Enforcement Committee

No fewer than 20 Batch A stream II National Youth Service Corps members in Gombe State have been inaugurated as COVID-19 Vanguard and Enforcement/Implementation Committee.

The Gombe State Coordinator, NYSC, Ada Imoni, disclosed this, shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of 1,269 corps members at the NYSC temporary orientation at Amada Gombe State.

Imoni explained that the committee was set up to enlighten and educate corps members about COVID-19 transmission, and prevention.

He called on them to be alert to their responsibilities, noting that they should ensure that camp members adhere strictly to the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Delivering a lecture on ‘COVID-19 transmission, prevention and control’, Dr. John Lamingo and Dr. Sadiq Muhammad, of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, urged the corps members to continue to take COVID-19 preventive measures seriously.

The Corps members, he said, should not jettison hand washing under running water.
