Motorists have been advised to desist from driving against the traffic popularly known as (one way),as it is very dangerous to both vehicle users and pedestrians using the road.
The Executive Secretary, Osun Office of Transportation, Engr. Bilad Adiat gave the advice today while featuring on a radio program tagged: “aabo loju popo” aired on OSBC Fm, saying offenders will be prosecuted.
He warned motorists and motor bike riders to stop the reckless and dangerous act as it is capable of causing serious road accidents which could send people to the world beyond.
The Executive Secretary, who also warned against over speeding on the road, by both motorists and motor bike riders, said the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke is ready to put everything in place to ensure safety on the roads.
He noted that the government has already started putting machineries in place that will assist the job of the Office of Transportation to carry out it’s task appropriately.
According to him, “I am sure listeners got news of a ghastly motor accident which occured at Iwaraja Junction yesterday, it is clear that the accident could have been avoided if one of the vehicles involved did not drive against the traffic.
“Driving on One Way as popularly called is very dangerous to both motorists, motorcycle riders as well as pedestrians using the road. It can cause accidents which will lead to loss of lives at anytime.
“I urge road users in Osun and environs to desist from this dastardly act for the good of all”. Engr. Adiat stated.
