I met Muftau Abiodun Adediran, a barrister at law during my sojourn as Governor in the State of Osun. He had set up a group in support of the progressive government in Osun named the Progressives e-Group, PeG. The group was particularly vocal during the campaign for my second term election in 2014, mobilizing for the party both on social media and on the streets of Osun.
After our election victory, the group continued to defend our government policy and party. He later served as a Senior Special Assistant in the government, an assignment he did with the whole of his heart.
Muftau Adediran was a dependable ally who stood with us through thick and thin. He rendered his professional service pro-bono when the successive APC government in Osun hounded and charged our party members to court unjustly over political differences. His service to the party and the state cannot be quantified.
The legal practitioner was full of life when he last visited me at home in Abuja and later in my office at the Ministry of Interior. He even posted WhatsApp messages to me on Friday, March 24, 2023, which came a few hours before his home call. I am still in shock over his demise and I will personally continue to miss him.

I commiserate with the wife, the young children he left behind, family, friends, and associates over his exit.
Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted says Quran, 31:34.
Muftau’s hour has come. He has gone back to his maker; I pray Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
