Woman Rejects Free Goiter Surgery, Opts For N300,000 Support
A middle-aged woman simply identified as Mrs. Folakemi from Ede, Osun state, has stirred online discussions with her bizarre decision.Â
Folakemi who is suffering from goiter, had sought medical assistance to alleviate her pain.
The woman, in a short video watched by OSUN DEFENDER on the social media, was earlier taken to the Government Secretariat, Abeere to solicit for the support of the state government but the Journey proved abortive as no help was rendered.
However, when a team of doctors offered her free medical services, she surprisingly turned down the offer.
She requested for the money raised on her behalf instead of going for surgery.
Despite attempts by the doctors and others to persuade her to do the surgery, Folakemi stood firm on her decision and chose to collect the N300,000 fund raised for her.
She returned to her village after collecting the money on Wednesday.
Her action has ignited a flurry of reactions from netizens, sparking diverse opinions and discussions about her situation.
The online frenzy reflects the curiosity and varied perspectives surrounding Folakemi’s unexpected decision and the broader implications it may hold.
