FG Not Osun Govt Responsible For Deductions In Traditional Rulers’ Allocation – Adeleke
The Osun State Government has disclosed that the unstable federal allocation was the reason for the deductions from the five per cent allocation of traditional rulers in the state.
The state government denied intentional deductions from the allocation, saying that it was a result of fluctuating allocations received from the Federal Government.
According to a report on TVC, the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke made this known during the
monthly meeting of the traditional rulers on Thursday.
Osun Defender gathered that the monarchs have been complaining about deductions from the five per cent allocation by various local governments in the State.
The traditional rulers, however, sought clarifications on the issue during the meeting.
The Governor said, “What we receive from the Federal Government as allocation varies and we don’t have control over it’
“We have fought over it at NEC, and that is affecting us. It is also what the federal government gives that we share. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down”.
The Governor during the meeting also promised medical support for the traditional rulers as well as the building of a befitting Secretariat for them within the State capital.
