Again, Petrol Price Rises In Osun, Others
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the national average retail price of petrol increased year-on-year, YoY, by 28.35 per cent to N770.54 per litre in July 2024 from N600.35 per litre recorded in the corresponding period of 2023.
The NBS disclosed this in its Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) Price Watch for July 2024.
On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, petrol prices increased by 2.72 per cent from N750.17 in June 2024.

State-by-state analysis revealed significant variations in petrol prices. Katsina State recorded the highest average retail price at N950.00 per litre, followed by Jigawa State at N903.08 and Benue State at N846.95.
It was gathered thatย ย fuelย is currently being sold at โฆ850 and โฆ900 at several filling stations in Osun and Oyo State.
The lowest average prices were found in Kwara State (N650.00), Edo State (N669.75), and Akwa Ibom State (N673.75).
From a regional perspective, the North-West Zone had the highest average petrol price, at N820.10 per litre.
The South-South Zone reported the lowest average price, at N678.30 per litre.
