Man Arrested For Defrauding Job Seekers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano has arrested a man accused of defrauding job seekers of N1.2 million through a fake employment scheme.

The suspect, identified as Mu’azu Mohammed Ibrahim, 32, was apprehended after weeks of surveillance by the NSCDC following numerous complaints from his victims.

Ibrahim, a resident of Sagagi quarters in Kano Municipal Local Government Area, allegedly posed as a high-ranking government official capable of securing employment in various state government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

He is said to have lured his victims, mostly women, with the false promise of securing them government jobs, only to disappear after collecting large sums of money.

According to the Sector Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Kano, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the suspect’s arrest was the result of an intensive investigation that began after multiple victims came forward with complaints.

The victims claimed that they had paid a total of N1.2 million to Ibrahim, believing that he could secure them government positions.
