Ogun APC Members Accuse Gov Abiodun Of Imposition Of Chairmanship Candidates
Some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun State have expressed displeasure over alleged imposition of the party’s Chairmanship candidates in some local governments by the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun.
The aggrieved members who spoke with Osun Defender on Tuesday, said the situation has caused divison among party memebers in the affected local governments.
The Local Government elections in the state is scheduled to hold on November 16, 2024.
They listed some of the local governments to include, Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Ijebu North, Ijebu East, Obafemi Owode and others.
They urges the governor to find a way to bring the warring factions together before the local government election in the state.

Speaking with the medium, one of the party members from Abeokuta North, who identified himself as Ige Babatunde, alleged that names of candidates nominated through primary elections were ignored by the govenor.
Babatunde said one Lanre Oyegbola who lost at the primary was given the ticket.
Another APC member from Ijebu North, Olubiyi Ayoade, told the medium that the govenor allegedly compensated his people with the tickets.
He said, “The shenanigans going on in over 5 -7 local governments is disheartening . APC members are aggrieved about the imposition of local government chairmen by his Excellency.
“The governor is not in our local government, so, he cannot choose for us. The leaders are the one who handle all primary elections particularly Abeokuta North.
“We are heard that the governor is using the ticket to compensate his boys. This is not good enough and the governor needs to find solutions to the issues on ground.”
Replying to a WhatsApp messenge sent by the medium for reaction to the allegations, the Chief Press Secretary, Olalekan, said, “Good evening sir. This question is flying in the air. Please,be specific. Who are the APC members? We have to know what we are replying to. Thank you”.
