Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats sensation Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has addressed the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow artist Davido.

In an interview with PUNCH, Chief Balogun revealed that he had advised Wizkid to remain unfazed by the provocations coming from Davido’s supporters.

He emphasized the importance of focus and urged his son to avoid unnecessary distractions that could derail his musical journey.

He said, “I told my son that he shouldn’t look or listen to whatever the boys who are supporters of Davido are saying. The supporters are only looking for what they will say to collect money and all of that.”

He explained that fans often seek attention and stir up controversy for their benefit, adding that Wizkid should rise above the noise.

“They are just looking for what they are going to eat and I told him not to pay much attention to them,” he added.
