Nigerians are expressing concerns and frustrations over the rate of hardship in the country.

Their reactions follow a video of a yet-to-be-identified man who was reportedly forced to sell his properties due to the current state of the economy.

The clip revealed the remnants of his once-furnished home, now stripped bare due to his desperate bid to make ends meet.

The video was posted by @21juliettheblack on TikTok, who claimed the homeowner, her neighbour, had been forced to sell all his belongings to cover basic necessities.

Many are questioning whether things will ever be the same again in the country as millions of Nigerians grapple with poverty.

Reacting to the video, @chi_maramma asked, “God abeg, will it ever get BETTER?” while @jahrmz wrote, “It’s crazy but I feel for him. In everything, just try to stay alive. These terrible times will pass.”

Others, like @officialmeri_madeinheaven, speculate that the man might be relocating, but @prosper_ogechi’s comment reflects the widespread dissatisfaction with the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government, saying “Tpain you do this one o! Shey wetin pharaoh dey do us e good?”

Some users, like @Sunnygbagba_, expressed skepticism about President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, stating that he claimed to be “the chosen” without being voted in.

@amythriftedwig even suggested taking action, saying “we go soon match go national assembly.”

The economic challenges have sparked fears of increased crime rates, with @1nuolar worrying, “What’s even scaring me the most… I can’t even imagine how the rate of crime gonna be, I mean people will be doing anything just to make ends meet.”

@tommyace1 bluntly stated, “Tinubu wan unalive all of us, may the best man win.”

The comments are reflections of the growing anxiety and desperation among Nigerians, who are struggling to make ends meet amidst the country’s economic woes.

As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear, Nigerians are eagerly awaiting a better future.
