Nursing Mother Kidnapped While Attenpting To Pay Ransom For Abducted Daughter
A nursing mother has reportedly been taken hostage by suspected bandits while attempting to secure her daughter’s release in Katsina State.
The events occured in Batsari Local Government Area, where the kidnappers had demanded ransom for the daughter’s freedom.
However, instead of releasing the daughter, the bandits seized the mother, leaving behind a six-month-old baby.
According to a tweet by Bakatsine, a conflict and crisis journalist, “Nasiru Baro’s wife went to deliver the ransom for their kidnapped daughter, Wasila Nasiru, that was abducted last week but the bandits took her too and now claim they don’t have the child.”
The family’s ordeal began with the daughter’s abduction last week.
The kidnappers contacted the family, demanding payment and the mother went to deliver the ransom but was taken instead, and now the kidnappers deny holding the daughter.
