Trigger Happy Vigilante Kills Ex-Chamber Of Commerce Son

A son to the former Director General, Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ONICCIMA), Mr Dominic Ajibo, was alleged to have been killed by a trigger-happy operative of the Anambra State Vigilante Service, AVS. 

The son, identified as John Ajibo (18 years) was shot at Oluchukwu Oil and Gas Ltd, New Tarzan Junction, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, where he worked as an attendant .

Speaking with newsmen, the father to the deceased, Dominic Ajibo, disclosed that his son was killed when he was hit by multiple bullets from the Pump Action riffle of a reckless AVG operative at his chest, neck and hands within the premises of Oluchukwu Oil and Gas Ltd, New Tarzan Junction, Nkpor.

Ajibo noted that he was informed that the AVG operative’s riffle exploded as he lost control of it when it fell down, hitting his son at several parts of his body..

He further raised concerns that since the incident occured there has not been any arrest as the suspect still works free in the streets.

The deceased father, who is currently the Catechist of Madonna Catholic Church, Nkpor, disclosed further that the corpse of his son has since been deposited at the Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital morgue , Nkpor Agu.

The matter according to him has been lodged at Ogidi Divisional Police station.

He added that the matter has reportedly been transfered to the homicide section of the State Police Command Headquarters, Awka, state capital, for further investigation.

“My family has been left heart-breaking, anguish and sorrow over this avoidable tragedy. We are asking for justice to be done on this matter in order to assuage the blood of my son which was spilled for no just cause whatsoever”, he said.

He however, appealed to men and women of goodwill, including Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the state Police Commissioner, Itam Obono, to come to their rescue by bringing the suspect to face justice which will serve as deterrent to would-be future offenders.
