Woman Flees After Pushing 65-Year-Old Neighbour To Death
A 65-year-old woman, Oladega Morenike was allegedly pushed by her neighbour, Abigail Bankole, during an argument, causing her to hit her head against a wall, which tragically led to her death.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 4:20 PM at Isunba Street in Ipokia, Ogun State.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed in a statement on Saturday that the victim’s son, Ibrahim Oladega, reported the case at the local police station.
Odutola said, “On November 21, 2024, at about 6.20pm, Ibrahim Oladega, a resident of Isunba Street in Ipokia, reported an incident at the police station. He said that earlier that day, around 4.20pm, his mother, 65-year-old Oladega Morenike, had an argument with a neighbour, Abigail Bankole.

“This confrontation escalated into a fight during which the deceased was pushed, causing her to hit her head against a wall and collapse.”
Upon arriving at the scene, police found the woman lying on her back.
“A photograph was taken, and her body was transported to the General Hospital in Ipokia, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor. The body was subsequently moved to the mortuary at General Hospital, Ilaro, for an autopsy.”
Odutola revealed that the culprit fled the scene and is currently at large.
“Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation.”
