Two people have been confirmed dead in Boripe Local Government area of Osun State over the fracas that erupted when some hoodlums working for the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress attempted to take over the council.

One other person whose name was given as Yinka, a photographer, was also shot and in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital, OSUN DEFENDER reliably gathered.

The victims, whose names were given as Ege and Igara, according to eyewitnesses, were shot dead by hoodlums.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Ege, who decamped from the APC to the PDP recently, was the only son of his parents, with his father also said to be a member of the PDP.

The situation has caused panic in the area as residents reportedly scamper for safety.

Speaking on the situation in a Facebook video, a PDP member accused former Commissioner for Local Government Prince Bayo Adeleke, popularly known as Banik, and a former chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in the state, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly called Asiri Eniba, of leading the thugs who shot the victims to the council.

The PDP, in the video, also alleged that some security operatives attached to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, had invaded the secretariat.

He said in the video, “Banik came with Asiri Eniba and other thugs, and they killed two members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the local government. One was also shot and he is in a critical condition at the hospital.

“Some officers attached to former governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in two Hilux cars also came with guns and shot sporadically. Some of our boys were taken away by them.
