LG Election: Go To Court, Gov. Makinde Tells Osun APC
- As Adeleke Swears-In Newly Elected Council Chairmen
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has advised members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State to optimise all legal options regarding the administration of council areas than resorting to self-help.
Makinde who spoke on behalf of the PDP Governors’ Forum warned against a repeat of the ‘wild wild west’, calling for the entrenchment of the rule of law.
“We do not want a wild, wild west in Osun State. Stay away from this zone” – Governor Seyi Makinde says as he sends a strong warning to APC. His statement came as Governor Ademola Adeleke swore in the newly elected chairmen in Osun State this afternoon.

The Oyo State Chief Executive who attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected council Chairmen in Osun alongside the forum’s Chair, Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State urged political gladiators to remember history and learn from it, warning that Osun should not be plunged into crisis over a matter that can be resolved by the judiciary.
“If anybody has a judgement, there is a procedure for enforcement of court decisions. It is illegal to resort to self help”, the Governor submitted.
