Your Meddlesome Role In Osun Governance A National Embarrassment – APC Tackles Adeleke’s Sister
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lambasted Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, the elder sister of Governor Ademola Adeleke, over her alleged meddling in the state’s governance.
In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the opposition party lamented that Governor Adeleke has become a mere figurehead while his family members particularly Adeleke-Sanni dictate state policies and appointments.
Describing Adeleke-Sanni’s role as “a national embarrassment,” they alleged that the governor’s sister has been wielding undue influence over her brother’s administration, distributing public offices to her cronies, and even attending public functions in place of the deputy governor.
The APC cited a recent event at the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, where Adeleke-Sanni’s visit reportedly exposed her significant control over state affairs.
The party claimed that public officers now recognize her as the true decision-maker in Osun’s government, even though she holds no official position.
“It was an indication that Governor Adeleke is only a governor by mere designation. His siblings are not only in charge but in total control of the convulsing administration,” the statement read.
The opposition party further alleged that official government files must pass through Adeleke-Sanni before being approved by the governor, suggesting that her influence has created an unofficial “Office of the Sister to the Governor” in Osun State.

Drawing comparisons with past administrations, the APC pointed out that previous governors, including Bisi Akande, Rauf Aregbesola, and Gboyega Oyetola, did not allow their siblings to interfere with governance.
The statement also criticized Adeleke-Sanni for allegedly sidelining the governor’s wives and taking up roles traditionally associated with them.
“If we may ask Madam Adeleke-Sanni, what is her constitutional power upon which she has been relying to distribute public offices to her cronies when she is not holding any statutory position under the administration of her brother?” the APC queried.
The party further raised concerns over reports that the Deputy Governor of Osun State frequently vacates his seat for Adeleke-Sanni at public events, calling it a breach of official protocol.
The APC urged Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni to withdraw from state affairs and allow Governor Adeleke to exercise his duties independently.
“Madam Adeleke-Sanni should stop cashing in on the pathological challenges of her brother by allowing him to breathe in and out of office and stop playing the roles of her brother’s wife when the wives are very much around.
“The earlier Madam Adeleke-Sanni keys into the fact that Osun State is not the estate of the Adelekes, the better it would be for her.
“Madam Adeleke-Sanni should sit up, desist from usurping the roles of her brother’s official wife and stop being a meddlesome interloper in the administration of her brother which has become a national embarrassment peculiar to the State of the Virtuous,” the statement said.
