Adeleke Hails Nafiu Olakunle’s Appointment As NYSC DG

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated Brigadier-General Nafiu Olakunle on his appointment as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke described Brigadier-General Olakunle as a fine and disciplined professional, stating that his appointment to manage the affairs of one of the nation’s strategic organisations is a recognition of his distinguished military career.

The governor emphasised Olakunle’s capacity to fulfil the NYSC mandate by deepening national values in young people and preparing them for future endeavours.

He noted that the exploits of the Ile-Ogbo-born officer in the military are reassuring that he will excel in his new role.

“I’m extremely delighted to learn of the appointment of Brigadier-General Nafiu Olakunle as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The appointment is an affirmation of the confidence in the capacity of Brigadier-General Olakunle, and I’m thankful to Mr. President for the opportunity given to one of Osun’s finest citizens,” Governor Adeleke said.

Adeleke appreciated President Tinubu for giving yet another Osun indigene the opportunity to contribute to nation-building, urging Olakunle to use the appointment to positively spotlight the state by ensuring the achievement of the NYSC’s mandate.

He wished the new NYSC DG a successful tenure, expressing hope that his leadership would further move the organisation forward and bring much glory to the state.
