Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos has suspended the arraignment of Ezekiel Onyedikachi, popularly known as EeZee Tee, in a case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraudulent conversion.

The EFCC had brought a four-count charge against Onyedikachi, but during Thursday’s hearing, Justice Owoeye stated that an ongoing “administrative procedure” prevented him from making any pronouncement on the matter.

Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Chikaosolu Ojukwu and Dr Monday Ubani, represented Onyedikachi, while Bilikisu Buhari appeared for the EFCC.

Unlike the previous court session, Onyedikachi was present this time.

“There is an administrative procedure going on in this case, and until it is completed, I cannot make any pronouncement on it,” Justice Owoeye declared.

He also refused Ojukwu’s request for all parties to maintain the status quo pending the resolution of the administrative process.

The case was subsequently adjourned until May 14.
