The Media Office of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has debunked a recent story published in a national newspaper, describing it as a fabrication based on unnamed sources and unfounded claims.

In a statement signed by Yusuph Olaniyonu of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Media Office, the report was dismissed as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public by attributing non-existent remarks to Dr. Saraki following a purported meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Ilorin.

The Media Office expressed strong disapproval of what it called the “spin and manipulations” by the opposition in Kwara State, who allegedly distorted the story further by manufacturing quotes and designing misleading graphics for online circulation.

“It should be noted that the reporter of the story quoted unnamed sources and faceless individuals who he claimed attended a meeting with Dr. Saraki,” the statement read.

“He also sought the opinions of people who he did not tell the detail of the story he wanted them to respond to.”

The statement emphasized that Dr. Saraki has deliberately maintained silence over current coalition efforts by some political actors and that any speculation about his position is baseless.

It noted that Saraki is known for his cautious and deliberate manner of communication and would not make statements that could subject him to ridicule or misrepresentation.

“The views expressed in that news story and the concocted graphic design in circulation do not represent the position of Dr. Saraki. He has nothing to do with them,” the Media Office stated.

It further urged Saraki’s associates and the general public to disregard both the newspaper publication and the altered version being spread by political adversaries.

“We, therefore, call on well-meaning Nigerians to disregard and ignore the false claims,” the statement concluded.
