Unknown thugs have murdered an Adamawa youth leader, Thomas Godwin and widely known as ‘Zamfara’.

In a statement on Wednesday by Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Adamawa state command, confirmed the incident and pledged a thorough investigation into the matter.

He said, “Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was attacked by unknown person(s) while returning home.

“Zamfara was beaten with sticks and clubs, resulting in his death.”

The attack reportedly occurred on the night of Tuesday, April 15, 2025, under unclear circumstances that have sparked shock and anger across the state.

Nguroje disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the killing.

“The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Investigation (DC SCID) has been directed to lead the investigation. A team of detectives has been deployed to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice,” he added.

He called on members of the public to assist the investigation by providing any helpful information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible.

“The Command, while praying for the departed soul to rest in peace, urges members of the public to come forward with any details that could aid the ongoing investigation,” Nguroje said.
