Reps Postpone Meeting With Rivers Sole Administrator Indefinitely
The House of Representatives ad-hoc committee on Rivers State oversight has postponed indefinitely its meeting with the state’s Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas.
The meeting, which was scheduled for Thursday, was intended to provide an opportunity for Ibas to engage with the committee on his activities following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of emergency rule in Rivers.
In a statement issued by House Spokesperson, Rep. Akin Rotimi, it was confirmed that the request for postponement made by the sole administrator had been acknowledged.
Rotimi stated, “In the spirit of transparent and effective oversight, the committee will promptly inform the public once the rescheduled date is confirmed.”
NAN reports that the 21-member ad-hoc committee, which was constituted on Tuesday, is headed by Rep. Julius Ihonvbere.
The committee is tasked with overseeing the emergency rule in Rivers State.
