Insecurity: Nigerians Must Be Able To Defend Themselves – TY Danjuma
Following the resurgence and growing threat of insecurity across the country, former Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd.), has called on Nigerians to take proactive steps in protecting themselves.
Speaking at a public event in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State on Saturday, Danjuma reiterated his long-standing position that citizens must not rely solely on the government for safety.
“Our people must be prepared to defend themselves. Every warning is as valid today as it was when I made it,” he said.
Danjuma stressed that the insecurity challenges facing the nation cannot be tackled by the government alone and urged communities to take responsibility for their own protection.
His comments come amid rising concerns over attacks by bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal groups in various parts of the country.
