1. 2026: Disregard Defection Rumours, Adeleke And We Are Not Leaving PDP – Osun Executive Council
The Osun State Executive Council has dismissed as baseless the rumour making the rounds that Governor Ademola Adeleke and members of his cabinet are planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Speaking during a press conference in Osogbo on Monday, members of the cabinet, comprising Commissioners and Special Advisers, reaffirmed their unflinching loyalty to Governor Adeleke and the PDP, stressing that no amount of political scheming by the opposition would sway their allegiance.
The Executive Council members vowed to stand firmly “like a rock of Gibraltar” behind the governor, whom they described as the architect of a new Osun.

2. Two Escape Death In ‘Hit And Run’ Road Accident In Osun
Two persons have escaped death in a hit and run accident which occurred along the Ife-Ondo route on Monday.
According to information made available by the Osun Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Taofeeq Sokunbi through the spokesperson, Agnes Ogunghemi, the accident involved a single motorcycle.
Ogungbemi revealed that the incident was reported at 1308hrs by RS 11.11A Ifetedo Outpost Command.
