1. Boundary Dispute: Stop The Blame Game, Allow Mature Discussion – Makinde To Osun, Oyo Residents

The Oyo State Government, on Tuesday, urged border communities in Iwo local government of Osun and Lagelu local government of Oyo to stop the back-and-forth blame game and allow the two governments to continue mature discussions on the resolution to the land dispute.

The government said the simmering public altercations over the boundary dispute will not solve the issue

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, made the appeal in a statement on Tuesday in Ibadan.

He said the government and the media feed on combustible materials such as this, and while unending hostile public statements feed the media nest, they are injurious and distracting to what the governors of the two states are doing.

2. My Developmental Strides Inspired By Awolowo’s Legacy – Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that his administration’s developmental strides are inspired by the visionary legacy of the late Premier of the Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Receiving the Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, Bimbo Ashiru, and his team during a courtesy visit to his office in Osogbo on Tuesday, Adeleke described his government as the “true progressives,” committed to people-focused governance.

The governor said his admiration for Awolowo’s leadership model in the First Republic motivated his government’s ambitious infrastructure projects and policy initiatives.

“Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his crop of administrators are legendary figures. They saw the future and attempted to create it in their time. They are my inspiration—especially as my family has strong roots in the Awoist philosophy,” Adeleke said.

3. National Table Tennis Championships In Osun Hit Knockout Stage

After two days of preliminary matches at the 5th Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial National Table Tennis Championships, the tournament progresses to the knockout stage on Wednesday, April 30.

All group matches concluded on Tuesday, April 29, at the Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Hall in Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State.

Attention now shifts to the knockout rounds, where seeded players will compete for glory in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events.

Day 3 of the competition kicks off with the mixed doubles final, followed by the men’s and women’s doubles finals, all scheduled for Wednesday, April 30.

Later in the day, the singles events begin, with top seeds in the Men’s and Women’s Singles striving to reach the pinnacle of the tournament and claim a share of the N11.5m prize purse.

Tournament referee John Peters highlighted the impressive turnout of players this year, particularly noting the emergence of new talent in the cadet division.
