Sowore Slams Tinubu Over Soaring Tariffs, Falling Life Expectancy
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has accused President Bola Tinubu of worsening the suffering of Nigerians through harsh economic policies and called for his resignation.
In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, Sowore said the hike in taxes, electricity tariffs, fuel prices, bank and telecom charges, and other essential costs has fuelled insecurity and led to a sharp drop in the life expectancy of Nigerians.
He wrote, “A rise in electricity tariffs, taxes, Customs and excise duty, fuel prices, bank charges, telecoms charges, transportation fares, school fees, and rental costs culminates in heightened insecurity and diminished life expectancy for Nigerians.” He concluded the post with the hashtags #RevolutionNow and #TinubuMustGo.
Sowore described the Tinubu-led administration as one that is “strangling” Nigerians and insisted that any leader who fails to fulfil promises should step down.ep down.
