1. 2026: Iyiola Omisore’s Supporters Join PDP, Get New Name
Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, thousands of supporters loyal to former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, have officially joined the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the decampees, largely drawn from the Omisore Youth Support Forum (OYSF), were received at a well-attended ceremony held at the PDP State Secretariat in Osogbo on Wednesday.
Leading the charge on behalf of the PDP was the party’s State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, who welcomed the new decampees with open arms.
Also present to receive the defectors were notable figures including the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuff, and several other party stalwarts.
In a symbolic gesture to mark their political rebirth, Hon. Bisi announced the renaming of the group from Omisore Youth Support Forum to Adeleke Youth Support Forum (AYSF), signifying their endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership and re-election ambition in 2026.

2. 2026: Gov. Adeleke’s Appointee Resigns
Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, one of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointees at the Obokun Local Government Education Authority, Mercy Ayodele, has tendered her resignation from the board.
In a formal letter addressed to the Chairperson of the Education Authority in Ibokun which was seen by OSUN DEFENDER on Wednesday afternoon, the former board member cited personal reasons for stepping down from her role.
“I appreciate the opportunity to have served, and I am grateful for the experience gained,” Ayodele wrote, while expressing her gratitude to the board and by extension, the state administration under Governor Adeleke.
Ayodele further noted that it was time for her to “step down” owing to undisclosed personal reasons.
