Osun 2026: PDP Women Leader Resigns
Ahead of the 2026 governorship elections in Osun State, one of the prominent grassroots women leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mrs Ropo Adejuwon, has tendered her resignation from the party.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that Mrs Adejuwon, who until her resignation served as the First Woman Leader of the PDP in Obokun Local Government, formally conveyed her decision in a letter dated April 29, 2024, and addressed to the party’s Ward 7 leadership in Esa-Oke.
In the letter, she stated unequivocally that her resignation was borne out of the party’s failure, particularly at the state level, to prioritise the welfare of the people in her immediate community.

“This resignation is consequent upon the failure of the Osun State ruling party, the PDP, to give any attention to the social well-being of my community and environ,” the letter read in part.
