2025 UTME Resit: JAMB Releases Results, 21,082 Absent
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of its resit Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates affected by technical issues during the 2025 exercise.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, 336,845 candidates were rescheduled for the resit.
However, 21,082 candidates failed to show up for the examination.
No official reason was given for the high number of absentees.
The initial 2025 UTME results were released on May 9.
OSUN DEFENDER had reported that, on May 14, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed that the results of 379,997 candidates in 157 centres—mainly in Lagos and the South-East—had been compromised due to a technical fault.
During a press briefing, the Registrar broke down in tears as he apologised for the mishap, which he blamed on faulty server updates that disrupted the upload of candidate responses during the exam’s first three days.
He also confirmed that affected candidates would retake the test.he test.
