Israeli Strikes Kill Six In Gaza Amid Renewed Offensive
Six people were killed and several others injured in Israeli air strikes on northern and central Gaza in the early hours of Sunday.
According to Civil Defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal, five of the victims died in an air strike that hit a house in Jabalia, located in northern Gaza.
Another person was reportedly killed in a drone strike on makeshift tents sheltering displaced persons west of Nuseirat in central Gaza.
The Israeli military has intensified operations across the territory, describing it as part of a renewed campaign to dismantle Hamas.
Military sources said on Saturday that over 100 targets were hit in Gaza within 24 hours.
Gaza’s health ministry revealed that at least 3,747 people have been killed since a truce collapsed on March 18, pushing the death toll from the ongoing war to 53,901 – most of them civilians.
The conflict was reignited by Hamas’s October 2023 attack on Israel, which left 1,218 people dead and saw 251 hostages taken.
The Israeli army says 57 hostages remain in Gaza, with 34 presumed dead.
