- Salute His Pragmatic Leadership
- Osun 2026: We Are Not In Alliance With Any Political Party – Aregbesola
Immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has been described as a doyen of true progressive leadership whose legacy of leadership and service to humanity remains indelible in the sands of time.
This is just as they eulogised his passion for the emancipation of the masses, reflective of his contributions to the development of Osun and Nigeria’s internal security formation.
The speakers, including Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, former Osun SSG, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti among others, all spoke at Aregbesola’s 68th birthday grand reception, in Osogbo, on Sunday.
In his remarks, Adeleke represented by Commissioner for Political and Inter-governmental affairs, Dr. Biyi Odunlade, said the celebrant represents a good template for good governance in Osun.
“I celebrate you because you left a good template for good governance in Osun State that can not be faulted by anybody. Your legacy of service is exemplary and remarkable, one that stands you out among your contemporaries,” Adeleke said.

Also speaking, former Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, said Aregbesola remains an indelible politician for his contributions to the entrenchment of genuine progressive governance in the state.
Adeoti, who recalled the former Minister’s journey to governance, applauded his commitment to human capital development as well as his passion for societal transformation and mass prosperity.
Earlier in a remark, Chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, lauded the former Governor for providing true leadership and being a beacon of hope for the masses.
Responding, former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who expressed appreciation to the organisers, espoused the vitality of motherhood to the success of every human.

He reiterated that his political tendency, Omoluabi Progressives, is not in alignment with any group or political party ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun.
“I thank you all for taking your time out again to celebrate me. It gladdens my heart every time I mark my birth anniversary and the moment irks a deep reflection into the contributions of motherhood to humanity.
“Every human is born of a woman and that is why, we must never forget their roles in making us whoever we are today in life.
“Motherhood is so priceless, as it gives strength, hope, and courage to face the challenges of life, while providing the requisite support for the growth of humanity and the world at large. Motherhood is the foundation of a purposeful life, a stable society, and a viable nation. Females and mothers need special attention and deliberate policies of support and empowerment.
“By this time next year, we will be looking forward to returning to Abeere. Let me repeat once more, we are not working for or in any alliance with any existing political party for this objective. We are focused on our resolve to reclaim the government of Osun, In Shaa Allah,” Aregbesola noted.
