Passengers Stranded In Lagos Airport As Oshiomhole Blocks Terminal Over Missed Flight
Passengers were left stranded at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday after Senator Adams Oshiomhole allegedly blocked the entrance to the Zulu Terminal following his late arrival for a scheduled flight to Abuja.
Eyewitnesses said that the former Edo State governor, who arrived well past the 6:30am departure time of an Air Peace flight, refused to vacate the terminal’s entrance, insisting he must be allowed to board.
The standoff reportedly caused a gridlock at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), delaying other passengers and halting operations.
Despite repeated efforts by terminal management to pacify the Senator, Oshiomhole remained defiant until the airport’s regional manager intervened.
The airline, however, stood its ground, citing strict adherence to its check-in policy and declining to delay the flight.
The disruption forced airport authorities to hastily convene a management meeting in an attempt to restore calm.
