VeryDarkMan Blasts Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid For Flaunting Multi-Billionaire Cars Amid Hardship
Controversial social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has berated Nigerian music superstars, Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid over their recent acquisition of luxury cars worth billions of naira, describing their actions as insensitive in light of the economic hardship many Nigerians are facing.
In a video posted on Instagram, VeryDarkMan, who is known for his outspoken and often provocative commentary, questioned the trio’s sense of social responsibility, particularly towards their fans and local communities.
He criticised their decision to flaunt expensive purchases while many citizens struggle to meet basic needs.
This comes on the heels of Burna Boy’s announcement that he had acquired a brand-new McLaren Sienna supercar reportedly worth N3.5bn, making him the first African to own the vehicle. Not long after, news emerged that Davido had also purchased a 2026 Mercedes Maybach SL 680, said to cost N1.2 billion.
Earlier this year, Wizkid was also reported to have acquired a luxury car worth approximately N1.7 billion.
Reacting to the wave of purchases, VeryDarkMan said, “Yesterday, I saw the news that Burna Boy bought a N3.5 billion car. The same yesterday, Davido bought a car of over one billion naira. They have been doing these things.
“The question I have for Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido is: don’t you people read the room? Don’t you see the country you come from? You guys are not the government, but I just need to say this.”
Focusing on Davido, whom he described as a close associate, the social media critic asked what tangible contribution the singer has made to his home state of Osun since rising to fame.
He said, “Let me start with Davido because na you I know very well, na you be my guy. What can you beat your chest to say you have done for the people of Osun State that you come from?
“What is your contribution to the growth of Nigeria? Because you have benefitted from Nigeria and you have benefitted from your fans. What can your fans say they have benefitted from you?”
He further stated that Davido’s most recent engagement with Osun people was during his uncle’s gubernatorial campaign.
“The last time I saw your video from Osun was when your uncle was contesting for governor and you needed to help him secure votes. But after then, what have you built that benefitted the youths?” he queried.
