NDLEA Warns Parents As Drug-Laced Snacks Target Children

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned parents to be vigilant as drug traffickers increasingly conceal illicit substances in snack-like packaging targeted at children.

The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, raised the alarm in a post shared on X on Sunday, revealing that recent NDLEA operations uncovered hard drugs disguised as sweets, chocolates, biscuits, and candies.

“Parents, please pay attention to those substances that look like sweet, chocolate, candy or biscuit in the pockets and bags of your children,” Babafemi wrote.

“They come in colourful and attractive wraps and names, but they’re destiny destroyers, as seen in some latest #ndlea_nigeria seizures.”

The NDLEA urged parents to carefully inspect items their children carry, warning that these seemingly harmless treats could be laced with dangerous substances.
