Police Refuse Bail For Pastor Amos Isah Accused Of Defiling Minor
  • PublishedJune 24, 2025

The Nigeria Police Force has refused to grant bail to Pastor Amos Isah, founder of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, Abuja, following his arrest for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.

A source familiar with the matter revealed to SaharaReporters that the cleric applied for administrative bail, but the police rejected the request.

The source said, “On the pastor accused of rape and detained, the police said they will not release him on bail and that they are waiting for legal advice before charging him to court.

“His church members are surprised because he told them he was travelling abroad.”

The arrest, which took place last week, has sent shockwaves through the community where Pastor Isah is known for his charismatic sermons and bold claims of divine power.

According to authorities, he allegedly abused his spiritual influence to exploit a minor.

Some police officers are reportedly working behind the scenes to shield Pastor Isah and prevent his name from being made public.

The case is being handled discreetly due to its sensitive nature and Isah’s prominence as a religious figure.

His church, located behind Noble Noel Academy near Gwagwalada Market, is a popular worship centre among local residents.

On his Facebook page, Pastor Isah frequently shares messages centred on holiness and moral integrity.

His bio reads: “The purposes of this page is to touch lives as the Holy spirit leads because God has given me power.”

His last known service was held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

He was notably absent from the pulpit the following day during another church programme.

On Father’s Day, June 15, he wrote: “Dear God, thank you for the gift of fatherhood. We pray for all fathers and those hoping to become fathers. May You give them the strength to be a vessel of Your love. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY.”

In a June 11 post, he declared: “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1, NASB). We need the Holy Spirit’s help any time we stand up for Jesus; it is His strength that we must lean on. We need His boldness and courage to be light in a dark world if we are to be a mouthpiece for Him.”

Despite his online persona and moral teachings, police sources told SaharaReporters that he allegedly used his position of trust to sexually abuse the underage girl.

Officials at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) confirmed that the arrest followed the victim’s report and ongoing investigation.

Efforts to reach Pastor Isah for comments have been unsuccessful, as calls to his mobile phone were not answered.

The FCID is proceeding cautiously due to the high-profile nature of the case and the seriousness of the allegations.
