ADC Denies Appointing New State Chairmen, Warns Public Against Fake Websites
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has debunked viral reports claiming that it has appointed new State Chairmen across the federation, describing the information as baseless, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to cause confusion within the polity.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Wednesday, the ADC cautioned Nigerians against falling prey to misinformation being peddled on social media and unverified online platforms.
The party maintained that no such appointments had been made and insisted that it remains committed to due process and internal transparency.
“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to make it known to the public that the party is not aware of any appointment of State Chairmen as being circulated on the social media space,” Abdullahi stated.
The party further warned its members and the general public to be vigilant and not fall victim to fraudulent websites posing as official communication or registration portals of the ADC.
It noted that it has observed a surge in the creation of fake platforms aimed at misleading unsuspecting citizens and possibly defrauding them.
“This is a critical time in Nigeria’s democratic space, and we must not allow misinformation and fake news to disrupt the integrity of political engagement,” the statement added.
The ADC reassured supporters of its commitment to grassroots democracy, party discipline, and internal accountability.
It also pledged to inform Nigerians through its verified and official communication channels whenever any genuine leadership or structural changes occur within its ranks.
Meanwhile, OSUN DEFENDER gathered that there has been no change in the status of state leadership, with existing chairmen retaining their positions across all states of the federation.
The party urged members of the public to disregard any unofficial information and to report suspicious portals or messages linked to the ADC to the appropriate authorities.
