Lagos LG Election: Voting Commences At Sanwo-Olu’s Polling Unit
Voting commenced promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday at Polling Unit 007, St. Stephen’s Nursery and Primary School, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu voted in the ongoing local government elections.
Officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) arrived on time and immediately began the electoral process without delay.
The exercise, aimed at electing chairmen and councillors across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, witnessed early turnout by voters.
Among the early voters was Jubril Gawat, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media.
There was a strong security presence at the venue, with police officers deployed to ensure a peaceful and orderly voting process.
Governor Sanwo-Olu and his wife later arrived and cast their votes at exactly 11:10 a.m. at Ward E3, Adeniji Adele.
They were accompanied by the LASIEC Chairman, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (retd.), and other dignitaries.
Voting at the governor’s unit remained calm, with LASIEC officials coordinating proceedings smoothly under the watch of security personnel.
