Enough is ENOUGH! The mask has finally slipped, revealing the grotesque visage of unchecked power festering within Osun State’s so-called Speaker, Wale Egbedun. What began as isolated sparks of arrogance has erupted into a raging inferno of tyranny, desecration, and outright savagery. We watched, we justified, we were complicit. Now, the beast we fed turns its venom on the very throne of his ancestors.

Remember the police? Egbedun publicly humiliated officers, branding them “extortionists,” and we cheered. We mistook thuggery for strength, mistook the trampling of law enforcers as some perverse “justice.” We were fools. It was the first crack in the dam of decency.

Remember the law? He assaulted lawyer and bailiff– servants of justice executing their sacred, legitimate duties! Did we rise? Did we demand accountability? NO!We justified it! We made excuses for the brute. We normalized his violence. We became his enablers.

Remember Aragbiji? Egbedun spewed unadulterated bile upon a revered traditional figure over matters far beyond his purview. And what did we do? We rationalized it! “He is Protecting the Governor,” we chanted again, blind to the sacrilege, blind to the dangerous precedent of a political upstart desecrating centuries of tradition for cheap, partisan points.

NOW THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL! This boy, drunk on power gotten from the manipulation of legislative standing rule, he has turned his profane tongue and violent threats upon his hometown’s MONARCH! He invoked Ògún, the god of iron, in a curse against the sacred crown! He threatened to DRAG THE KING FROM HIS THRONE, BEAT HIM LIKE A COMMON THIEF & THROW HIM IN JAIL!

He sneered, telling the Oba to “call his Babalawo” – a deliberate, calculated insult to the deepest spiritual and cultural foundations of Yoruba royalty. THIS IS NOT POLITICS. THIS IS BLASPHEMY! THIS IS TREASON AGAINST THE VERY SOUL OF OUR HERITAGE!

WHO IS NEXT?

This is the terrifying question echoing through every town, every village, every heart in Osun. The police? The lawyer? The chiefs? The King? WHO WILL BE THE NEXT VICTIM OF THIS BOY SPEAKER’S BLITZKRIEG OF ARROGANCE?

Our ancestors foresaw this calamity. They carved a warning in the bedrock of our wisdom:
“Ìmádò kò bá ṣe elédẹ, a bá ìlú jẹ; Bí erú bá jọba, ìlú kò níí kú ẹni kan!” Literally If the Ìmàdò were a wild boar, it would devour the whole town; If a slave ascends the throne, the town will know no peace!

Behold the Ìmádò unleashed! Wale Egbedun is the living, breathing embodiment of this ancient prophecy. He lacks the dignity, the wisdom, the humanity required to wield the staff of authority. He is a slave to his own base impulses, his insatiable lust for domination.

His reign is a cancer metastasizing through our body politic. Every assault justified, every humiliation excused, every curse uttered has been a hammer blow to the pillars of our society – Law, Tradition, Reverence, Humanity. We stand now amidst the rubble of our own tolerance, staring at the snarling face of a ruler who recognizes NO LIMIT.

Will we cower? Will we offer more pathetic justifications? Or will we RISE? Will we reclaim our dignity, our traditions, our laws, our PEACE from this usurper clothed in the cheap fabric of political office?

The time for whispers is OVER! The time for outrage, for unified resistance, for demanding this boy tyrant’s immediate accountability – THIS TIME IS NOW! Let every council of elders, every professional body, every true son and daughter of Oduduwa raise their voice. STOP THE SLAVE-KING BEFORE HE DEVOURS US ALL!
