The Ondo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has demanded that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) open the forthcoming Continuous Voter Registration exercise to prison inmates, insisting that no eligible citizen should be denied the right to vote.

INEC has scheduled the nationwide voter registration exercise for August 18 to 30, 2025.

In a statement issued on Saturday by its Director of Media, Mr. Eniola Olurotimi, the party urged INEC to ensure that inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Service centres are included in the process.

According to the statement, the state chairman of the ADC, Wole Ademoyegun, said, “Eligible prisoners must not be left out of the process.”

He also appealed to unregistered ADC members to take advantage of the online registration, which begins on August 18, 2025, and the physical registration that follows on August 25.

Emphasising the importance of mass participation, he added, “Nigeria needs a better leader to end the suffering of its people; the time is ripe for the ADC to take over from the APC-led bad government.”
