Lady Dies After Visiting Boyfriend In Osun
The Osun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of a lady, identified as Bidemi Omole, who died shortly after visiting her boyfriend, Yinka, in Esa-Oke town.
It was learnt that Bidemi had gone to her boyfriend’s residence in the Oke Esa area of the town on Friday evening but suddenly took ill not long after her arrival. She reportedly died around 9:30 pm, a development that threw the community into panic as residents trooped to the scene.
A neighbour, simply identified as Taye, told our correspondent that cries for help from the house attracted residents, who rushed there only to meet security personnel struggling to control the surging crowd.
She said, “We heard the cry for help and we all ran towards Yinka’s house. By the time I got there, many people had gathered already. The deceased usually attended vigils on Fridays, so it was surprising when the news of her death broke.”
The suspect, Yinka, was immediately taken into custody as the matter was reported to the police on Saturday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the deceased was rushed to a hospital after she suddenly developed complications and began vomiting but was confirmed dead before arrival.
Ojelabi added that an autopsy would be conducted to determine
the cause of death.
“The incident occurred on Friday after the deceased visited her boyfriend’s house in Esa-Oke. She took ill and started vomiting not long after arriving. She was being rushed to the hospital when she passed away. The boyfriend has been arrested, and an autopsy will be carried out to establish the cause of death,” Ojelabi stated.
